Ellipse text works in a similar way to circle text. The biggest difference between them is on an Ellipse you only have 4 options for Justification point, and text angle is used to rotate the Ellipse. Just note that Major Axis must be greater than Minor Axis, if you need the Ellipse to be taller than it is wide, use the Text Angle setting to rotate it 90 degrees.
